RMIT Bash 2005@Gotham Penthouse

The bash held yesterday at Gotham Penthouse was a success. There were quite a crowd in there. I like the deco there. The toilet is nice and clean too. There were a lot of seats. Think GOtham is more for chilling out than for clubbing. But I noticed the two tall and long tables had a stairs leading to it. Think it's for pple to dance on top of table top. The stage was rather small but there were two flat screen TVs at both sides of the stage and our bash poster were up in the centre of the stage. Gotham Penthouse is actually on top of 1 Night Stand at Clarke Quay. We were all supposed to be there at 3pm for rehearsals. There were nobody there except Van and Agacia and the dancers from UOL's DreamWorkz who were there for rehearsals too. They will be putting up a performance as the opening show and the finale show together with Agacia and Van (the emcees of the pageant). I'll put up the full pics for the whole pageant when I get hold of the CD compiled. I met with Carol at Clarke Quay MRT first as she knows how to get to Gotham. So we climbed 90 steps to Clarke Quay. And it's realli 90 steps continuously. Then when we reached there, we met up with Jia Jing also another contestant. And saw that there was not many around. Carol and I took out our cameras and started taking photos.

There were a lot of sofa seats there too. Then two guys came with Fiona and Adrian. They were M2 and M5, Kelvin and Benjamin. We unload our stuffs backstage. The backstage was rather cramped and small. Then Priscilla also came. Then we started the rehearsals. The emcees started their opening and we started trying out the catwalks and positions to move, come out and stand. The catwalk was easy. Just that when we are in our nerd outfits. We gotta act and walk like nerds too. So this is based on acting. Haha...So we tried and changed a lot of times. Then the other council members arrived. And the other cotnestants arrived too at about 6pm. After dry running through, we finally decided on the exact positions. Then we started doing the make-up at about 6+. We changed our tops to the P.O.A. outfits first just in case the nake-up will smear on the top while changing. The make-up artist were from The Face Shop. But I did not really like the make-up. It didn't look like me. I still preferred my usual make-up colours. They applied a lot of make-up. Double mascara (white and black - upper and lower lashes) and my blusher was rather pink cause she couldn't the colour on my cheeks so had to applied a lot on it. It turned out in photos my face was so white compared to my shoulders colour and my cheeks were pink. The eye-shadow was white with few other colours like ourple and pink I think. First time I realli felt like some model walking catwalk on stage. Cause we gotta change in 10 mins, actually in the end, took longer than that.

Then after the make-up, we had out dinner. They took away McDonald's. I only ate a McChicken and did not managed to finish it. Then I saw Kok Kiong and Jooe they all in their nerdy outfit and look, I was tempted to dress like that liao. I out my burger aside and tied up my hair and pinned my fringe and grabbed my spectacles I got from my sister she bought in the past. It was very loose as u can see my specs seemed to be dropping.

I was damn fascinated with Kok Kiong's nerdy look and outfit. Damn funny...I must take a pic with him...

I should have passed my camera to Yunwei then she would have taken the whole pageant on video at a good view...What a waste...It has been quite an experience for me. Then after the casual segment, we all immediately went backstage to change into our formal wear, but in the end, after I changed finished, Daphne came and said we need to go out on stage again in the nerdy look for games segment. This was the surprise segment they had mentioned before...It was indeed a surprise segment for me...We had to talk. Agacia had a short interview session. Asking us to intro ourselves and asked how are we feeling. Guess that was the first time I felkt nervous so far and the second is the Q & A segment afterwards. Cause I did not even have time to recover the surprise, so my answer was quite nervous but I said I was fine. I lied alright...And the game was to go out there and find one person of the opposite sex and pull him on stage. I couldn't find any of my friends so I happened to saw Zakky and dragged him on stage with him reluctantly, no choice cause I knew him only. He was the ex-council Chairman before when I knew him.

After we changed into the formal we gotta come on stage and do the catwalk in pairs twice...after that the curtains will be drew back and the chairs will be brought in behind the curtains where the guys will sit and the gals will stand beside the guys. When F3 was called, her fans will shout out. Then M3 was rather popular at first, but he did not win in the end...During the Q&A segment, I was always the first to be called cause I'm F1, I picked number 1 and the question was something like "If you were to have all the money in the world and world peace, which one would you choose?" I said, I would take all the money and who wouldn't want money and I'll donate it to charity at the same time it'd be bringing world peace. Luckily everyone still clapped and sheered when I still mentioned world peace, but I know my answer would not have impressed the judges at all. Cause I was nervous. I hate to be on stage and talk or answer questions. It's like a test of wits and brains...Which I dun have I guess cause of my nervousness. I'll get stage fright when there is a need to talk and stuffs. But when walking the catwalk and stuffs, I didnot feel nervous. Was having fun...

Do I look very different after the makeover from the nerdy to the formal wear? Actually got a lot of pple voted for me actually. I heard my semester the people did vote for me cause I'm the only semester 2 who is in the pageant. But voting counts only 40% whereas 60% goes to the judges. Guess Germaine is still the popular. Whenever she appears, her fans out there would cheer for her. But it's been fun to be in this pageant. We dun have jealousy or anything. The first prize is the new 3G Motorola phone. I was the 4th place. And then when was left with two places, Priscilla and Germaine and Gary and Benjamin were called out to be announced the winner together. Then Germaine got it just like we all have guessed. At first thought either Kelvin or Hafeez would have won but Hafeez was rather stuck up in the first time I saw jim till yesterday night. Then when Gary and Ben wer left standing. I had thought and hoped it would be Gary sicne he was my partner, but winner was Benjamin.

I know my top is very sexy...guess this is the only time I'll wear like that...haha, cause only like pageant or beauty contest gals would wear like that right? I love the necklace I'm weating,Aunty Linda got it from Thailand, my sis had the purple one but green was nicer...

These two gals were the 2nd and 2005 Pageant Queen, Priscilla (inner) and Germaine (outer)...

Finally the party started....we changed back into our own clothes as the clothes need to returned back to POA and Osmose and Jean Perrie. Then I went to find Doris, Grace, Jooe, Leon, Zihao, Hong and Bernard. First time went clubbing with friends besdies Josiah they all. Really fun. It's R&B night again. Think R&B music is nice to dance at. But I also like Mambo...Shane came over to find us too. We were dancing away on the dance floor. But the dance floor was quite small so we were quite squashed and had not much space to move about. The party started at around 11+ to 12am only. I had forgot to obtain the drinks coupon from Adrian. Luckily Yunwei had quite a lot of them. So we normally just ordered glass by glass and shared. I had a lot of coke yesterday night. Had a few sips of Vodka Lime anbd bourbon coke though. The music was quite nice yesterday night. We were tired and hot so we went to rest at the sofa area. Then I took some photos backstage again...

Then we saw Yunwei dancing on stage as she was dragged by the council pple. Then we decided to join her...My first time dancing on stage actually but we were dancing at the inner part of the stage at least it was less cramped.

Guess Yunwei rea;;i enjoyed herself. Her first time going to clubbing too cause she had curfew but her parents gave her exeptional this time cause she put in a lot of hard work and effort in doing the posters, name tags, publicity and erverything...

Allan (the photographer for this whole bash and the previous photo shoot) and me...After this shot, I even joke with him saying "Wah, we like couple leh..."cause we were quite close mah, but he was close to every girl one...so I joke with him, he even put his hand on my head and pat on it. It was meant to be a joke...

Then after that, I left with Jooe and the others...I reached home at about 2+.
