Flight of the Phoenix
Okie I just watched Flight of the Phoenix today. And guessed that most of you would have second thoughts after seeing the rating given by a movie crtic in the newspapers and 8 days. Well, never believe movie critics, well I did not change my mind even after seeing Flight was given 2 out of 5 stars compared to Constantine 4 out of 5 stars. I watched it at Jurong Point today and indeed it was not as bad. It deserved five stars at least it is the next good movie after Cellular and LOTR that deserved full stars. And that movie critic actually gave Kungfu Hustle 4 out of 5 stars where I only gave 2 or 3 at most. Guess she preferred comedies or those lots of computer graphics like Constantine and Kunfu Hustle. So go watch it if have time for two good movies this month, it'd be Constantine and Flight of the Phoenix...Just to give a synopsis for this movie, Flight of the Phoenix I can say that it is really an exciting film especially the last and middle scenes, really will make you excited. It will sure keep you awake for the whole 113 mins, guranteed you won't fall asleep. Frank (Dennis Quaid) is a pilot of Amacore Oil Co which he was assigned together with his co pilot, AJ to bring back this group of people working in Amacore that was posted in Mongolia to Beijing Airport. The plane was caught in a sandstorm where the plane crashed onto Sahara Desert after the plane was badly damaged by the sandstorm. Thus losing the radio transmittor and three men on board. They had water supplies to last them for at most 30 days and food supplies like canned peach were left. Frank believed that there are very slim chances that rescue team will be sent out to look for them. A mysterious men on board, Ian suggested they rebuilt the cargo plane into a real plane. He claimed he was a designer for planes of a huge aeroplane company. He just needs a pilot which only Frank is able to get them out of there. With the help of everyone, they remake the old plane to a new plane. However, obstacles often arise. (This will leave you all to watch it) Are they able to get out of the desert safely? Will they survive the threat of the Mongolians waiting to attack them? Will the plane really be able to fly? All these answers you'll know after you watch this movie...Labels: movie, reviews, synopsis

Meeing old friends...
A week just passed so quickly...Three more days will be Chinese New Year. Time really flies. Well, will be busy during the New Year, going visiting to my ex-colleague's house, Adeline, Serene's and maybe Josiah's and Ivan's. Then I'll also be going to relatives' house and they may also drop by my house too. I went back to my previous company, Kestronics to collect my last cheque and at the same time meet my colleagues for lunch on Friday. My unit did not have electricity till 4pm anyway, so I was dying to get out of the house. So nice to see them again. The office's still as cold. The four of us (including my boss) went to Anchorpoint and my boss treated us to Secret Recipe. We waited for our food for rather long especially for the Sea Bass dish. Then there's this waiter who served us who's about late 30's or early 40's served us was rather rude. We chose to sit on a six-seater table. Another colleague may be joining us but not confirmed yet, this particular waiter, Arthur Lim (I happened to chance upon his nametag) was like asking us is it just the four of us. Think he wanted to ask us to move to another smaller table cause their lunchtime will be packed I guessed. I specially told him I want my rice to switch to fries and he said okie, we ask for iced water but he said they do not serve ice water. Then after that, we saw another waitress taking cups of water to another big table. We got hold of that waitress and ask if they serve ice water, she said yes so she served us the iced water. When my food came, it was still rice so they took it back and change the rice to fries which took a long time before my chicken chop became cold. The same waiter, Arthur Lim came again and asked if our friend is coming. We said not confirmed yet. What was he thinking anyway? Thinking of asking us to shift places to a smaller table when part of the food is already served or he wants to take away the menu...Damn bad attitude. Then when we ask if the sea bass is ready, they said they'll check but they did not get back to us. We kept asking for the food twice in total when finally my colleague became fed up of waiting and decided to cancel the order. Then they gave us a feedback form for any comments. Well, as u can guessed, the waiter has messed with the wrong customers. Two of my colleagues are in the service line especially customer service so they're good at complaints (esp my boss) so he wrote a long feedback specifying the waiter in it. He brought back the form in order to prevent it from ending up in their bin so he decided to mail it out instead. Then after that, my boss brought us to Haagen Dazs to have ice cream but we were all quite stuffed up so I just ordered a vanilla ice cream cake. After lunch, I went down to Orchard to meet my secondary school friend, Caihui. We shopped around Heeren where she bought a bag and a top she loved from Heeren. Then we headed down to Far East where we each bought a jeans and formal shoes respectively. Then we had Sushi Tei for dinner. We just ordered sushi for dinner. Caihui just ate Ebiko and shared the Agedashi Tofu and Miso Soup with me. can u imagine she had four plates of Ebiko (8 pieces) in all only. I only had Chawamushi and Scallop Wings and I was full already. Cause from the start I was not that hungry already anyway. Adelene called to say she want to meet us to chat and perhaps have coffee. Whoa, she cut her hair short...So we ended up in Jurong Point Coffee Bean but did not had any coffee cause I was still quite full of the water in my stomach (Miso soup, iced water, green tea and chawamushi). So we just sat down and chatted and tried to call any single secondary friend out. Only Joanna came and it was only for a while... Today my first time teaching this new batch of Sunday School kids and they are really quite a handful. The class size is not big but they're really either moody, temperamental or playful. This new batch came from the Toddler's Programme (3-4 years old only) so they're concentration time is very short. Only three students actually sat down and listened to me. Think next week would not be that tough for me already cause I'm getting used to their behaviour and personality. Did a little research on my OB assignment. An essay which I'm supposed to write for 1500 words. Topic: What do leaders need to understand about organisational behaviour? Dunno how to start off from actually. Hopefully the research will really help me...There's also a group essay which requires 2300 words...This submission date for the 1st assignment falls on the day before my Biz Stats test. Hopefully the exemption results will be out by then so that I can confirm if I'm really going to take this module or not. Then I will not need to worry about the test. But I did it before in Poly so should be too difficult for me. Tomorrow I'm going to watch Flight of the Phoenix with Ivan he's going to lend me his gameboy advanced. So will tell about the story and give the rating soon... Labels: church, gathering, reviews, shopping

Not another sleepless night for me again yesterday....I think last night was the worst night. I practically did not really slept for more than 2 hours in whole i think. The fact that I toss and turn and scratch for most of my sleeping hours have made me look like a walking zombie today. I did not take the anti-itch medicine previous night cause I dun want myself to get immune to it and gotta rely on such drugs. But I took it this morning just in case so that I could sleep better. But I think it won't matter if I had consume it anyway cause I was really sleepy the whole chorale practice. I dun even know what the hell I was singing for the new songs I just learnt today. But I guess last night was due to a little of my own thinking that will I be itchy and not able to sleep. So it's just my own worries that really made it itchy...I did tried praying to God almost three times last night asking God to help me reduce the itch and give me a peaceful sleep till dawn but I guess this time my prayer was not answered cause of my own thinking that i'll be itchy...My dad just bought supper-hokkien mee. Everyone's eating except me though I feel hungry and wanna eat too all because it contained prawns and sotongs...I guess I'll just have to sleep on an empty stomach then...Next week's Chinese New Year and I'll be heading to KL on the 2nd day and coming back on late night 3rd day. Though there are a lot of good shows I wanna watch on SCV...I hate night trips...cause all u see is dark roads and nothing else in pitch darkness then u'll sleep. When you reach home, you wouldn't want to sleep anymore though it's way past bedtime...And I'm coming back alone with my parents. My sis and her bf is staying for one more night to spend time with my cousin in KL (actually is to go to KL's Zouk..eew I can't go). Think I'll buy lollipop and eat along the way home to keep me occupied. Oh yah, Ivan said he'll lend me his Gameboy Advance so I'll get from him next week before I go. Hopefully I'll be able to sleep well too in KL though I'm a light sleeper and normally first night is can't really sleep in a new place one. But I can get plenty of sleep in the car anyway...Labels: eczema, Rantings

Shall We Dance?
I went to watch Shall We Dance? today at Jurong Point with Ivan. But last minute Yiwei came along too cause he was meeting me to return the VCDs he borrowed from me. So I asked him if he's interested to join us for movie. He obliged so we went together to watch the movie. See the ratings I gave below. I shall give a little synopsis of the movie then. It is not really a love story but more like a story of this man, John Clark (Richard Gere) who led the same boring life everyday for over 19 years and he isn't a bit happy with his life. He wants a change in his life. One day, while he was on his way home, he passes by this dance school where he noticed this woman standing by the window every night, Paulina (J.Lo). He walked up to the dance school and saw her working there as a ballroom dance teacher. He signed up for the class and made new friends there. Initially he joined the class cause he was interested in Paulina, but then after, he realised he has fallen in love with ballroom dancing. Without his wife, Beverly's (Susan Sarandon) knowledge, he joined the Ballroom Dancing Competition with a woman, Barbie. Finally, after his wife found out about his joining the ballroom dancing class without her knowledge, he then realised the importance of her to him. Just to let u know, nope J.Lo did not end up with him. But I think she really know ballroom dancing cause if those people who watched The Wedding Planner, she also had a small scene in ballroom dancing in the show. As for Richard Gere, he's quite sexy in the show. I mean the dancing and stuffs.... Think I may be allergic to alcohol or should I say because of the alcohol, the blood circulation caused my eczema to worsened. As in, new parts appearing causing my sleepless night on Monday and the old spots which was recovering when I went to see the doctor last Thursday has been aggravated. I will still go for clubbing and stuffs but perhaps I will try not to drink alcohol anymore unless I fully recovered already which is not possible...I really dunno what can I do. The patch test can only do at end Feb then I'm dying to wear skirts once again....I bought this skirt for CNY which I'm hoping my legs condition would improve by then but guess now it's too late. I tend to get affected when I see the gals able to wear skirts and stuffs. I never really like to wear skirt cause quite inconvenient to walk and stuffs. But now, I never been so dying to just have a chance to wear skirt once again....to show my legs.... Labels: eczema, movie, reviews, synopsis
