I was the OGL again for Orientation Day 2006 July semester held on 28th June (Wed). We had to reach school by 7.30am. The freshies will be seated from 8.30am onwards. I was assigned to pair with Kok Kiong aka K.K. for short. We were to take charge for BBM 2. The freshies was assigned to the 1st group for every 20 seats filled, the freshies will then be called to the 2nd group. Then another 2 OGls, Andrew and Justin joined KK and me as OGLs. Their groups couldn't be filled with freshies thus the OGls there will have to be brought to join other existing OGLs with their groups. We named our group Ocean 24 inspired by the movie Ocean's 11 and there are 24 of us thus Ocean 24. Our Orientation Theme is C.S.I which means Campus Scene Investigation.

This is our poster...It's been a long time since I last posted pics on my blog
So the the games are related to the theme. Every station we complete, we'll be given a clue to the next station and certain stations have only clues to breaking the mystery on who the murderer is. The case file goes like this...summarised: A lecturer was murdered in school and there was a rumour about the affair of the victim with another female lecturer. The female lecturer became one of the suspects, there was a compulsive gambler who is the cleaner and were smoking buddies with the victim who was also one of the suspect. There was the last suspect, an overaged student of the victim. So there were fingerprints or evidence left behind at certain places of the school and we are to find out who the murderer was. They even make a video to re-enact the whole scenario and their relations...
While the freshies are listening to the library talk, we got bored so KK took his camera out and took photos of ourselves...

Me, Andrew, Justin and K.K

Then James, Johnny and Algene joined in...

Then came Annie...

Then Serene, Matilda & Georgina joined in from Group 1 & 2....
Our first station had made a mistake. It was station 5 but we went to station 9 and the station master did not even realise. The first clue we had was, I can be hot or cold. You will need me when throat is dry. Hint: Eye witness. We had thought it was either the vending machine or water cooler ard the library area. The first station we were to choose two numbers which will be our given task chosen. We picked 2 & 4 which was to either dance Chicken Little, Macarena or YMCA dance. We picked the YMCA. The next task was to pair up with a guy and sit on top of the guy while he is doing push-ups. Our next clue was given. So we just carried on moving to the second station which is at the taekwondo area. This task was the worst task and it sucks out of all the stations. We were to choose a person (games masters) which will decide on the choice of plate they belonged to. I picked the girl, Jacqueline. We were to eat one bite each out of the papaya and watermelon plus the plate of veggies we chose. And the foods all have special ingredients. I picked three cards: vinegar, salt/sugar & pepper. Imagine those putting on papaya, watermelon and raw veggies. Our plate consists of celery, onions, bittergourd, cucumbers and tomatoes. It was my first trying out tomato and bittergourd. Bitterbourd is terrible. It is bloody bitter alright as it is raw. Bittergourd tastes good in soups but not eat it raw. Eeww...But we finished everything though.

This was the girl I picked, she was the only girl there...They said our choices of sauces weren't that bad. Others had soy sauce. Imagine soy sauce on watermelon and papaya...

Our before picture upon arrival at the station...

They said never see this side of me before so must take a shot of me eating watermelon....

There goes this bitterbourd was passed to me...

One of the clues found to the next station...and footprints left behind by the victim, he fell off from the rooftop...

This was one of the stations after lunch. We were supposed to form a huge circle surrounding the throwers and catcher. The catcher, using a newspaper wrapped up like a baseball bat has to hit 20 water bombs thrown by two throwers. We are sure to get wet no mater what and we cannot break or leave the circle.

Our group actually finished all 20 stations and we actually missed out two important clues and evidence left behind all because we did not check thoroughly at the male and female toilets. We concluded that the mastermind is the female lecturer and the accomplice is the student who was angry at the victim for not letting him pass the exams. It was his third attempt and he was having financial difficulties at home.
The video revealed that the victim and the female lecturer were indeed having an affair. The truth is the victim and the student were as close as friends. The torn in half photo we foudn as evidence were left by the female lecturer. We found condoms by the stairway was where they had made out at. damn hilarious realy when you watch the video. All acted by our very own students from Student Council - Events. He wanted to break up with her as his wife and children are starting to suspect his fling thus the female lecturer asked to meet him at the rooftop. That is where the cleaner was the witness and saw them quarrelling. Then while both were quarrelling, the student appeared begging for the lecturer to give him extra marks for him to pass his module. When the victim refused, he took out a fork and threatened to kill him. As the student has some mental problem before, he tried to calm him down. Then the female lecturer and the cleaner tried to stop the student when he accidentally fell off from the rooftop and while he was clinging on to the female lecturer's hand, he begged her to pull him up, but she said, I just cannot stand sharing you with another woman so I guess my only choice is to let you go. Whoops...and she drop him off.
In the end, my OG won the Best Team Spirit and we got $50 Starbucks voucher. So we agreed to ask everyone out one day and spend the voucher. Last sem, my group won 1st prize at the Sentosa Orientation Camp too, this time we won Best Team Spirit prize. Everyone praised our group for being really best team spirit and "steady" group. Haha...

Council members and OGls were being called on stage and we gave a cheer to everyone and there we mark an end to Orientation 2006
