Quitting studies?!
I just got my results yesterday and as expected, I failed my IA again. This is my 3rd attempt. I passed my Macroecons though. My parents calmly accepted the news already prepared that I wouldn't make it after all. A lot of my friends are very concern for me and are worried if I may really quit school. Well, I think even if I wanna study the school may expel those who fail the same module more than twice. I'm actually feeling quite relieved prob cause I have been struggling with this module but felt sad and disappointed that I couldn't complete my degree. I did not felt sad or disappointed or even cried like how I felt last sem. Prob cause I had already expected the worst and knew I tried my best and know I won't do well. I dunno how disappointed and how embarrassed I'll be when I meet my relatives from Malaysia esp my stern and strict uncle when I see them for CNY 2007. They even gave me few hundred bucks for my studies. I guess I will soon gotta start looking for permanent job soon. I'm trying to look for marketing position still. Hopefully positions that need not require much experience or relevant diploma/degree in it. Just that without such degree, it will be harder for me. But I dun mind starting from scratch as a Marketing Asst or Coordinator actually then I'll slowly climb up the ladder and at the same time, see if marketing is what I enjoy most. I went for a interview arranged by Adecco who had sent my resume over to this company, P&G who was looking for a person to be the Data Administrator. I went for the interview at 11am at United Square at Novena. The company was huge and owned several floors and even had another office at Novena Square. The interviewer, Donald Tong was good looking. I was surprised to see a young and not bad looking guy interviewing me. Think it was his accent that caught my attention. He had an American accent but he's a Chinese. I wasn't that nervous in the interview room. There was another girl, Chin Chin whom I will be under was present in the room too. She kept quiet throughtout the whole interview. It was my first time being asked so many questions. This interview was quite hard to get throught I guess but think I easily got it throught was because they had seen my resume and had already felt that I was suitable for the job. I was quite comfortable in the interview room surprisingly. It is just customary that they will interview a few more people just to make sure of their final decision. At 4.15pm, my agent called me saying that I was very good they had made their choice to hire me in less than a day. The pay is good. The working hrs very flexible cause I'm doing data entry with Excel except that it is large amount of data and needed some intermediate Excel skills. I hope I won't screw up with my Excel knowledge or forget the applications. It's a 6-mths temp job but I only need to work 2 weeks a month which is only 10 days a month. I can plan my own schedule. The pay for full-time is $1,800 which is a lot for a data administrator but since I'm working part-time, I'll be getting $900 a month before CPF deduction. After deduction is $720 a mth which is $9/hr. This is considered a high pay. I'll still enjoy medical benefits too and anytime if I found a job, I just need to give a month's notice to the agent to find my replacement if needed. I'll go down to sign the contract with my agent and I'll start work on Monday. It's back to wearing formal office wear again and hopefully Fridays is casual day. Edited: 8 June 2006, 10:34pm I just went to sign my contract with Adecco and I will get paid 4 days annual leave, 3.5 days of medical leave and up to $250 medical claims and OT charges & at the end of the contract, I can get 1 month's bonus. I will start work on the 19th (Monday) and not this coming Monday (12th) so in the meantime, I'll still go to my dad's office to help him out. If possinble the company has opening to other depts or positions, my agent may be able to put me to the position if I'm interested. Labels: jobhunting

Sick
I was working for this Cheers International for a event held for 12th Student Leaders Congress organised by Bukit Panjang Govt High, Hwa Chong Institute and Raffles Girls. This Cheers Intl was hired by Hwa Chong to be the trainer or so called mentor for the student facililators who are also known as the student leaders. Different secondary schools in Singapore who are gathered to this camp to become student leaders. The game was like Amazing Race. I was in charge of Orchard under this Corp called Silent Springs. There was another location udner City Hall. The teams are named under corporation. The facililator was Shi Hua. So I worked with her. I gotta admit I am really old among these group of 15 year olds. They run faster than me but there are a few who are slower. Shi Hua is indeed a good leader. She knew the locations well cause I did not went for the recce (walk-through) the locations. Places like NYC, Cineleisure, Takashimaya, Wisma Atria, Wheelock Place, DFS Galleria, Far East Shopping Centre, CK Tangs, Lucky Plaza, Paragon, Heeren, Starhub Building are all the lcoations and it runs in a flow. I ran together with them under the hot weather and water was very scarce. I fell sick yesterday with itchy throat due to lack of water I guess and perhaps heatiness cause I ate rice dumplings for the last three days for my breakfast. I was paid only $35 for 6 hrs. I met up with Cheers Intl and the students at Hwa Chong Institute. It was huge and I can lost my way in there. I did not even know there was a high school and boarding school in there. There were three bus stops outside the school. From the JC to the main building and to the high school. My throat was tormenting my sleep last night. Cannot sleep well. I was tired and sleepy but just could not sleep well cause everytime I swallow my saliva, my throat just made me wanna cough out and even felt nauseous at times. I found out sleeping on my side was better. But it still kept me awake in the middle. I had to go to the toilet to relieve myself cause I drank so much water before and during sleep. I had a bottle of water beside my bed to wet my throat but it din help at times unless it's warm water. I was even supposed to go out for class gathering with a few pple from my clique today but I thought I had better not go with a throat like this. My voice was even changing. I dun think I can go out to ktv tomorrow with Yiwei even. Just movie will do. But I really wanna sing. Maybe if my throat ain't that irritating by tomorrow, I'll still insist to sing for few hrs. I'll upload the photos from the Events Outing at Marina South having Steamboat Buffet in my next entry....I'm still going to Mediacorp Studios tonight to support Norman Then as it is his Results Show on Singapore Idol tonight. He's made it this far. Norman is my church friend. My sis was given by him one pair as her bf can't go so she asked me to go with her. So try to spot me on Live TV tonight okay? Heh heh....
