I went for the NDP Preview on Saturday 2nd August at Marina Bay. I've always wanted to watch the NDP ever since it was held at Marina Bay last year. I was never interested of watching NDP even on TV except for the last segment where the theme singers sang the theme song and the fireworks segment but I was interested in Marina Bay cause the performance was staged on a platform installed on the Singapore River. I just merely tried asking one of my colleagues whom I know is doing the NDP event so he got two tickets for me. Angela and I went Marina Square earlier and she had initially wanted to get a pair of slippers. So we ended up half an hour in Charles and Keith but she ended up with nothing cause she was indecisive. Then we went into Zara and in the end she bought a blouse. She's so slim and petite, she looks good in anything. It was 3.30pm and we proceeded to the Marina Square staircase to the NDP entrance. It was the security checks area. Then after we passed the security check area, it was a few mins walk to the funpack collection area. It was a hearty pack with lots of goodies in it. Then we split up and headed to our colour zone entrance up to the seating gallery. My ticket was the yellow zone so it the view of the stage was in the centre. But they forced us to head to the upper seats first. It was so unfair, why must the early birds sit in the back. Thought we should be sitting in the front first...So in the end I was sitting in the back section but 2nd row but walkway which was quite distracting and irritating to see people walk to and fro in front of us throughout the whole show.

Then the Black Knights aka the F-16s flew over us with a 15-minutes performance...

The result of two solo F-16s flying towards each other as if they are gonna crash with each other and slightly missed each other...Really exciting segment this is!

Then they formed a heart-shaped....

Looks like the musical fountain from Songs of the Sea (Sentosa)....This is something which Stadium or Padang doesn't have...

Then some fireworks appeared for one of the performance...

Then the two theme song singers, Joi Chua and Hady Mirza came out to sing the 2008 Theme, Shine for Singapore in English. They make a good duo...

The whole show ended well with all the people standing up starting off with The Pledge and then The National Anthem and singing a medley of National Day songs like, Stand Up for Singapore, We Are Singapore, Count On Me Singapore, etc. Indeed like what Angela has said, both of us have never been so Singaporean before. And this is the only time I sang and acted along with the others like holding the flag and singing the songs, cheering and did the Marina Wave, I never felt so high like that for some time since I left Student Council.
