It has been quite a busy week for me since last week. I have started doing research work on the net relevant to the project. I have research on searching for photo references under Picas website for the pioneers of Singapore, then move on to find out their history and background and what they have impact or done for HDB in the past and now I'm still doing research on 23 new towns in Singapore. I will need to get the info abt the towns like Toa Payoh, Ang Mo Kio, CCK, Bishan, Bedok, Pasir Ris, Jurong West, Jurong East, Bukit Batok, Clementi, Queenstown, Geylang, Kallang-Whampoa, Bukit Merah, Punggol, Sengkang, Tampines, etc. Haven't seen or gone through everything yet but I know I'm a professional researcher now...
Despite of this, I'm still enjoying this current job scope compared to my previous admin job. This have more challenges and setback if I can't get the info i want and at least I can do other things and less time to surf personal things on the net like facebooking. On Wednesday I even went to JB to meet up with Angela (ex-colleague who is back from the States but she's staying in JB) so I went in with Felix together with Alvin to meet up with her for dinner without many people knowing about her coming back. We left office ard 6+ and only managed to reach JB at around 8.30pm and the drive to the restaurant is ard 1/2 hr so we only managed to have our dinner after 9pm. The seafood restaurant was by the seaside where we could see Sembawang Shipyard on the other side. After so many years, I have never stepped into JB. I only went in before few times when I was in my younger days and this was my first time going to Msia via Woodlands Checkpoint ever since Tuas Checkpoint was built. They renovated the checkpoint and even shifted the place a little. I have heard that the Johore checkpoint aalso renovated and shifted the checkpoint to further from the city but at least it had a linkway bridge from the Msia checkpoint to City Square which was just beside the checkpoint. One day I should really come in JB to go shopping here.
After dinner, it was almost 11pm and 3 of them thought of going to this Roost Cafe for chilling out. I was rather reluctant to go but since everyone seemed to want to go for it, I agreed and by the time we got to the place, it was 11.45pm and they said they are closing soon at 12am so Angela was not able to show the clothes they weree selling in the upper floor. In the end, we headed to another cafe around the corner and it was also closing at 12am too so in the end, we gave in to going home. Felix drove Alvin and me back home after dropping Angela back at her house and I reached home almost 1am but only managed to sleep at around 2am.
