I just had my 1st paper today - Introductory Accounting AGAIN...This is my 2nd attempt and I hope this sem will end it all with a PASS. But after sitting for this paper, I realised that hope may be hard to come true for now. This paper SUX!!! And everyone who sat for this paper said so, it is like how I felt two sems ago in April 2005 sitting for this paper the first time. That time was 80% theory. This time, it was 70% theory. The only question that may gives us hope of scoring marks was a 17 marks Cash Flow Statement question but in the end, that question sucked too. It came out very different format as past years and in lectures. Different from what everyone expected. I really feel like using the F word saying, "This IA is a F***ed up paper!!!" Last sem paper was much easier actually. I had know the calculations of Cash Budgets and balance sheet and P/L very well now but neither of such questions came out. And the theory questions were the hardest. I had to bluff my way thru the answers. Well, if I din make it this time round again, I will keep my promise to my family to quit school and work instead. My main thing of continuing studies is I wanna study marketing but all I've been studying are foundations all about Accounting...I'm better in theoritical modules. I'm already prepared more of less for the worst. Even though if I managed to pass for Macroecons (which i failed last sem), I will still quit school due to the fact that after 3 attempts in IA, I still fail. But I really dun wanna quit school cause I've just gotten used and familiar to my current clique of friends. And my presence in council is being recognised and finally have some contributions recognised in there. I know from past experience, once a friend in that clique quits school, they will seldom contact you or anything. It's really hard to keep up to conversations and all as all they will talk about is what hap in sch or abt school. Am I really not cut-out for studies? But I'm doing okie with theory modules. It's only modules with calculations esp lots of calculations. What's more, now I'm beginning to understand the mistakes I have did for past sem in IA paper, it turned out the calculations questions I wanted it to come out did not. Could local Uni's std be better as in easier compared to Australia's?

Who brought Accounting in anyway to business management studies anyway? They shld implement it in Biz Finance major instead of during the foundation year. Many biz managers or marketing pple started off with no accounting bg even. They need not have such background. They can learn and acquire knwoledge along the way. I know of sales managers who dun even have simple accounting knowledge even.
