Yesterday morning, my Auntie Linda suddenly msg me on MSN asking if I was free yesterday night for a free movie preview. It's been a long time since I went for a movie preview and this was a gala premiere. So I definitely agreed and the movie was Made of Honor. Of course this show is going to air next week. So I can definitely review about this movie in my next entry. What I did not expect when I got there was there was really gonna be a real wedding ceremony held there. And the funny thing is, there was a poster at the GV Box Office taken of the bride, Ashley Thng and her groom, Kevin Foo and her maid-of-honour, Alvin Tong. A pity I had forgot to take a photo of the poster there but the pose was exactly same as the poster of Made of Honor. There was a small stage inside the Box Office and a small area blocked up with wedding chairs and an aisle set up with red carpet for the wedding procession. (I had only my camera phone so I can only take the photos with it)





We await outside the BOx Office for the 8days staff to arrive at the counter till about 7.15pm then the staff came to the counter and handed us our tickets. They gave us a flyer of the movie which was gonna be of use later. We had a quick dinner at Food Republic then walked around for a while then arrived at the ceremonial area to await to hear the lucky draw result. One lucky winner for 8 days is to win a $500 travel voucher. The guests of the couple can easily be identified by the corsages they wore. Then Flying Dutchman was the emcee cum Master of Ceremony there.

The wedding was so commercialised, media and press were around andthe whole wedding held there was fully sponsored for by Sony Pictures. So their gowns and suits, make-up, venue and flowers were all paid for by Sony Pictures for this film's promotion. The bride had used a male as her maid-of-honour so this is good publicity for the film.

And then The Flying Dutchman announced that winners of 8 days and Sony Pictures are invited guests to sit in the ceremonial area and witness the wedding so we went into the area. My auntie and I got seats and I sat next to the aisle. I wasn't that properly dressed for the wedding but I'm sure I was filmed on video camera and photographs which I dunno if it was hired by the press/media or by the couple themselves. I'll definitely check out next week's 8 days issue for sure. This wedding can definitely be called Wedding of the Century cause there's no wedding ever been held in a cinema area before and this was the first time I witnessed a wedding without even knowing the couple and the best part is, I need not contribute any gifts to the couple. TFD then approached the guy behind me and asked him if he have any female best friends and if she ever asked him to be her maid-of-honour, will he agree? I have a male best friend (I think if he's reading this entry, he'll know who I'm talking about rite, Ixxx) so if I ever asked him to be my maid-of-honour, knowing his personality, think he'll never do it.

Then the couple walked down the stairway and entered the aisle.

The photographer blocked the maid-of-honour at the back, he was holding the bride's train of course. TFD interviewed the bride, Ashley and the maid-of-honour, Alvin after the couple exchanged their vows on why she chose him to be her maid-of-honour. They have been best friends for 10 years now. Come to think of it, I have known him for 10 years too but there are issues in between but I'll still regard him as my best male friend. The ceremony lasted less than half an hour. And they had the lucky draw which the winner was not my auntie for sure. Then the bouquet was handed to the bride asking to throw the bouquet to the single ladies. At first, my auntie kept pushing me asking me to go out there too but I did not want to embarrass myself. Those girls out there are all the friends of the couple, I dun feel appropiate to be there too. (FYI, fortunately my sister did not had that idea in her wedding otherwise I'll surely be pushed out by my family and relatives). The lady who caught the bouquet have a hidden item inside where she is entitled to 6 mths free subscription of 8 days.

After that we can proceed to the movie at 9pm. Our cinema was to be at GV Max which was one fo the largest theatre in Singapore and GV itself. NOt only the screen has a huge size of 2K inches, the seating can seat many pax in it. The couple and their wedding guests can watch the movie at GV Gold Class which we all know has the best seats (individual sofa chair with table for food and drinks and have leg rest pulled up) but can seat only about 30 pax. One ticket is about $18 if I'm not wrong.

The movie ended at 11pm and started off at 9.25pm. We had crappy seats (4th row from the front and the side seats). I only reached home slightly before midnight. This was my first time staying out that late on a work day.
