It was a wonderful dept gathering at Pasir Ris Costa Sands Chalet on Saturday. It's been really long time since we have got so high and together as a team. There were also people from external parties / team whom we invited and are rather familiar with. The gathering was a complimentary chalet stay and celebrating Sharon's belated birthday. She was like the lovable figure of a few colleagues from my dept and from subsidiary company so her bday present was a lot. The food was wholly sponsored by Boss and the drinks like alcohol and liquor was sponsored by Mel, Brenda and Yong Hwee. Yow came to pick Mel and myself up at 5pm. We had to drop by Tampines Giant Supermart to get some BBQ supplies they were lacking.

Few of them had already arrived at the chalet. Some food was already ready to be consumed. A pity the bee hoon has turned sour so we had to throw the whole tray of bee hoon away. There was chicken chop, wings, sausages, curry, prawns and the first time I ever came across before at a BBQ was vegetables. There was sambal lady's finger and long beans being skewed on satay sticks. The lady's finger was good being barbequed but the long bean was a little bland. The non-spicy otahs and the chicken franks were already finished when I arrived.

Then Boss arrived with her husband. By then, Mel, Alvin and myself have already started to drink Chivas with green tea. That is one of the few drinks besides vodka that I'll drink. Mel was the only one who appreciated my concoction of the drinks I made for her. Then Boss joined in the drinking session. Alvin prefers to have the chivas itself without green tea. I had quite a number of rounds of chivas with green tea. Then I also tried the vodka raspberry with special concoction from Alvin. I do not know what he mixed in with besides vodka raspberry, cocktail, soda water and this final drink he mixed in it to sweeten it a little so the taste of the vodka will be that strong. I liked that taste.

The cake-cutting started at 9pm. They had gotten a two-tier cake for Sharon and it came with a free wedding couple figurine. The top tier was strawberry cake and the bottom tier was chocolate cake. After the cake was being served, Chito started smearing cream from the cake to everyone's arms including myself and my boss. Most of the people was being treated to the cream. I went in the chalet wanting to wash off the cream from my arm, Qikai smeared the cream on my right cheek. I got the cream from the cake I was holding and smeared at him back. Chito was hiding in the toilet. When he came out, he was being attacked by everyone else who has got the cream from him. It was so hilarious that Yong Hwee caught everything on video. That night, everyone was really wary of one another and whoever came in, Boss told Sharon to serve them with the cake (which means cream serving). Boss got really high too at that time, she drank several rounds and different liquor like Green Label. I did not dare to try that, it's like Tequila, it'd burn down the throat. So after several rounds of Chivas with green tea and cocktail (which also has alcohol in it), I was feeling a little tipsy but I was still sober. I could walk straight and everything. I just felt like sleeping. Good thing, Eric drove me home as he did not drink. So I left the place before 11.30pm and I got to ride in a convertible car. The breeze was really cool at night and I looked like a mad girl after that cause my hair was in a mess. I reached home at around 12 midnight. But I know my limits in drinking, I've never gotten so high before that I'll continue drinking. But I was sitting and chatting with my boss and others so I could also muster my drinking skills in future too. I was so guilty I almost went over my limit to drink and I missed church service the next morning. I was sure I will most probably have a headache if I were to wake up at 7.45am as I slept at after 2am cause I needed to have my hair dry.

I really enjoyed myself here and it really made us forget all differences or conflicts we faced at work with one another. We should have more of such gatherings.
