Christmas 2009 is over and this year is really just not the year for me. As 2 days before Xmas, I was down with sore throat so by the time Xmas Eve arrives, I haven't fully recovered and I had to sing in chorale. I couldn't even enjoy the Xmas atmosphere much this year as after the service, I joined Kailin, Rachel, Vince, Andrew for dinner but I had to head home after that at 10.30pm as my headache was disturbing me. They headed to Kailin's house and played Wii. I had to sleep early at 1am cause the painkiller medicine I ate had drowsy effects. Will post some Xmas eve photos when I'm back.

On Xmas day, though my throat was better, it became itchy and I felt that my cough was arriving. As usual, my family went to my gramps house and gathered and waited for everyone else to arrive. My grandma cooked mee siam for lunch and then at 3.30pm, we started opening presents. I had very little gifts this year. I was officially the santarina this year and distributed the presents to everyone. Then we proceeded downstairs for BBQ just like every other year. They started setting fire and pitching up tents as shelters in case of bad weather. Indeed, a heavy downpour occurred but we were well-sheltered. But we find it absurd, that we were bbqing under heavy rain. Anyway, I ate most of the food while it's cooled down and ate quite a bit of 'steamed' food (food wrapped in aluminium foil and placed on the charcoal itself to cook). Even my cousin, Kristin was down with sore throat. I cannot believe people can actually do such thing to a poor kitten. On our way back to our block, we saw the dead kitten on the table at the void deck. His mouth was slightly open and there was dried blood dripping down from his mouth. It looked so painful when it died. I heard from my auntie that it was earlier on the floor and surprised how come it ended on the table now. There were tissue left on the kitten's hind leg, guess that was how someone had used it and lifted the kitten up to place it on the table. It looked like its head was being tortured or hit onto something hard leaving blood oozing out from its mouth. My sis was so petrified at such a misdeed and she insisted my brother-in-law took a photo as she wants to make it known to public and to SPCA of such abuse. I saw how my bro-in-law lifted its stiff and hardened body into the empty plastic bag and trying to dispose it off. I dunno who can ever abuse such a cute and harmless animal. It doesn't looked like it was being run down or hit by a vehicle. I just hope my sis can really carry out her appeal to the public.

In less than 24 hrs, I'll be on the flight to Taipei-Taoyuan International Airport. But i have to bring loads of medicine there. My antibiotics and cough syrup. I cannot enjoy lots of the good food there but I think I'll still eat it first. I do not know how the weather will be there. I just hope it will not rain, otherwise winter time having rain + wind will make the weather super cold.
