CNY 2005

Haven't been blogging cause during second day of New Year I was already away to KL so no time to blog. So now I'll start with the first day of CNY...

On the first day of CNY, as usual is first visit to my maternal grandparents' house at CCK. My paternal grandmother is in KL. I was the second family to reach there. So we took some photos with my uncle, grandparents and parents while waiting for the others to arrive. Then one by one, my uncles and granduncles came. My younger cousin, Jerome was trying to entertain us by performing some of the tricks he learnt and my sis and I were trying to see through his tricks. We were all in the mood for photos so we took out our camera phone and started taking individual photos. Will post up the pics I took here soon. Then while everyone started their gambling session, I happen to watch SHE Encore's MTV Making and my uncles and aunties were there saying I look like Hebe. Even one of the young uncle that I never met in like wat more than 5 years said I look like Hebe and requested to take a photo of me before he left saying when he develop the photo he will get me to autographed on it. Felt a bit weird but I just obliged. Then I watched the show airing on Channel 8 and playing Big 2 with my younger cousins (no money involved). Then I had my dinner while my dad bought McDonald's for dinner for my mum, bro and himself. I just ate the fries and coke. Then we headed down to a auntie's house in Tampines was around 7.45pm already. We left the place at around 8.30pm as we needed to go home and packed our bags for the trip the next day.

The 2nd day of CNY, we woke up at about 6.30am to prepare for the trip to KL. We left house at around 7+. The trip all the way to KL was smooth. We reached at around 11.30am and my grandmother and auntie are already preparing lunch. My cousin and his fiancee together with my parents, sis and her bf and me went to KL together on two separate cars. We had lots of dishes for 11 of us. After settling down we went for shopping in Megamall Mid Valley. Not all the shops were open. We shop for like about 1 and a half hour, we left home to prepare for dinner in Chef Choi downtown to celebrate Granny's lunar bday. My uncle (a bachelor-my dad's eldest brother) gave me a huge ang pow after hearing I'm studying in Uni now. S$500 so it's going into my school fees. Then after dinner, my cousin, Denise who's a Malaysian now an Aussie PR drove my sis, her bf and I down to Mid Valley again. We were thinking of catching a movie but the next shows starts at 11 plus, that time was only 10+ and we dun think we could last till the show finishes (awake) so we went to Starbucks for coffee. My sis was the one who cannot stand keeping awake. Think this time this trip has made me realise I could understand more Cantonese now. I had to speak Cantonese like Gong Hei Fat Choi, Sum Tai Kin Hong and stuffs.

On the the third day of CNY, I woke up at 8+ and met with my cousin and my sis and my sis's bf's partner in KL for breakfast. He drove us to a coffeeshop near their office in Petaling Jaya and afterwards we went to tour their office. Afterthat he sent us back to their apartment to collect their car to drive down to KLCC for shopping again. KLCC has more shops opened this time and more crowded. My dad asked us if we wanted to join them for dim sum in Nikko Hotel (near KLCC) but we decided to choose A & W instead for lunch. I bought three pairs of Perlini's Silver earrings there. Think the price in Singapore is the same anyway, will compare them if got chance. So after shopping at KLCC was about 1+, we headed down to the A & W near my cousin's church. The walk from the church carpark to A & W is a long walk especially under the humid and scorching sun. Then after that we headed to Times Square-a new shopping centre. There were like wat 10 storeys high and the shops there sucked big time. All the shops names and brands were unheard. Something like Far East Shopping Centre I think. A shop name have several shops of the same name there. But my sis managed to bought a halter-neck top from Island Shop in one of the departmental shops there, acytually I also liked that top and wanted to buy it too but my sis dissuaded me saying it doesn't suit me and I look funny in it. Then we headed home to prepare for the New Year visiting at my Aunt Penny's mansionate. It was really huge and big. Dunno how to describe. She has practically three walk-in closets just for clothes, shoes itself. Her husband and her are sharing with her brother-in-law's family so guess the third closet is theirs. She has three kitchens and only two are for cooking (one's for those zhu chao type of cooking and the other is for light cooking) and the other kitchen is for washing of veggies and other groceries. She has a huge courtyard. A guest room below, a huge balcony upstairs linking to the study room and her master's bedroom, another small pantry room upstairs, a big comfy study room, a walk-in closet room by itself linking to the toilet and her bedroom and another bedroom where her brother-in-law and his wife lives in. Not forgetting another big living room upstairs. This is like the most high class house I've seen and entered in Malaysia so far. Then we had some buffet dinner there and my parents and I gotta leave for Singapore at around 9pm. My sis, her bf and my cousin went to Bansar before meeting his fren in Zouk. Too bad I can't join them. I reached Singapore at 1am. I was so tired I went to bed straight after showering.

Yesterday I went to my colleague, Sheila's house for visiting with my other colleagues, Angie, Rex and Jonathan. They all brought their family with them. I took some individual pics of their daughters. I was the only single girl amongst them...haha. But this year collected lesser cause did not visit a few of my friends. And those houses I'm going this week one the parents will not be home. I left the place at about 4pm and remembered Alaric's house is around the area so might as well go borrow the VCDs from him. I waited for him for quite a long time and the weather's like so bloody warm. He's always making me wait for him these days...

Then today went to church alone as I'm supposed to teach the Pre-schoolers in Sunday School this whole month so gotta turn up. Then after that we went to visit my uncle's place in Hougang and then headed down to auntie's house in Pasir Ris. Before that, we had lunch at Hougang Mall. My first time there actually and the place's rather small. Then at Pasir Ris house, my dad, another aunt and I watched World Without Thieves (Andy Lau and Rene Liu) and Saw (a horror movie) while the others started gambling. Then my dad wanted to leave before dinner so my mum and I left. We went to Jurong East for dinner. Next Sunday, we'll be celebrating my grandma's bday then they'll be heading to my auntie's and my house in Jurong area.
