Lyrics

yeah yeah yeah yeah
yeah yeah yeah yeah

转载来自 ※ Mojim.com 魔镜歌词网
yeah yeah yeah yeah
yeah yeah yeah yeah

yeah yeah yeah yeah
yeah yeah yeah yeah

yeah yeah yeah yeah
yeah yeah yeah yeah
Oh~ yeah yeah

Life is Vulnerable

I just watched finished A Little Bit of Heaven at home and I didn't expect the story to be so heart-warming and true. It really touched me. The story talks about this woman, Marley (Kate Hudson), who has a great career with great friends and a fun-loving person who then learns she has a terminal illness - colon cancer. And just when she starts to find out about her illness, she meets God (Whoopi Goldberg) in heaven, telling her that she is dying and she is given 3 wishes. She doesn't believe in whatever she heard and seen and casually mentions her 2 wishes. One is to fly and the second wish is to have 1 million dollars. The news is told by Dr. Goldstein (Gael García Bernal), a successful doctor with a hardened exterior, who is deeply impressed and affected by the way Marley accepts the news of her fate with humor and dignity. From there, Marley and Julian find themselves falling in love, and doing their best to make the most of the time they have left.
In the process when she knows her time will be up, she finds herself trying to distant herself away from her friends, family and the man who love her. God meets up with her and asked her about her last wish. That is to live and tell the people she love that she loves them and the man. She started to believe that the person she met was God when her wishes started to come true. I watched this movie and feel that life is really vulnerable. Sometimes life can be unfair, but God will always leave you with other things in life. Marley was about to die and she gets to experience once in her life what love is and how much her friends and family loves her. She has everything in life she can have when she's alive. I believe that every person will have its ups and downs. Friends and family are important and that it's good to at least love once in life.
If I was Marley, what will be the 3 wishes I will want when I know that I'll be dying now. I think I'll be equally scared but I think the 1st wish will be to be able to at least prolong my death to letting me find that love of my life who loves me even though I'm sick; second is to be able to have 1 million so that I'll be able to share with the people I love and wanna give to and the last if I really have to die, I will wish to take away as less pain on myself and on my family and friends to grief over me. Otherwise, it'd be wishing to be able to seek treatment and prolong my life for few more years at least. What will you wish for if God had given you 3 wishes too? I know as Christians, we are not supposed to wish for stuffs. Let's take this as a Food for Thought view.

Sitting is killing you

Though our great shift towards computer-based work has done great things for productivity, it has, unfortunately, done terrible things for our health. From increased risk of heart disease and obesity in the long term, to sharply hampered cholesterol maintenance in the short term, the negative health effects of sitting are starting to weigh heavily against the benefits. As we can see, something has to change.

My deepest condolences...

I was with Andre earlier at 5.30pm at his house. I went to his house to visit him after my meeting at Sentosa as he fell from his bike yesterday while thinking of his mum. He was not concentrating when he ran over several big tree branches while making a turn. His right knee was scratched and his two palms had to be bandaged. I wasn't able to see or talk to him yesterday cause he says he cannot hold the phone properly and he had to get his flatmate to help him with the dressing. I was angry and upset and so worried for him yesterday cause he did not explain it to me clearly how badly injured he was and refused to call and chat with me. I even offered to take half day leave today to accompany him to the doctor to change his dressing and he said he didn't wanted to waste my leave so I was mad at him and refused to talk to him then. Here I am trying to show to him I am very worried for him and trying to show my concern, and he is telling me how he hoped the friend at home now is me and being not appreciative. That's why I was angry with him.

Anyway I met up with him and he apologised to me for yesterday. At 6pm, his dad came home and received a phone call from his daughter in hospital saying Andre's mum is dying, there's no heartbeat. We rushed down to SGH. I told Andre to just park in SGH and I'll walk out to MRT station myself. I wished I can be there to accompany him but I guessed I gave his family and him time for themselves with her will be better. While on the way to hospital, Andre turned around and said to me, "At least she's not in pain now." I got so emotional which I did not expected, my tears just fell and rolled down my cheeks and I think he didn't know that I was tearing. I felt for him as he seemed not sad from his looks but I just felt his heart is somehow sad in a way. He text me at 6+ saying his mum passed away and at least he was able to see her breathed her last. He is still at the hospital with his mum's body still lying inside the room in the allocated area. I told my parents about everything and they contributed some condolences money to me to hand it to him at the funeral. He just told me that he will let me know when is the best time to go there pay my respects as his relatives will be there and he did not want me to see / meet them at all. He has his qualms and reasons for doing it. I just have to listen as this isn't the right time to make him upset. We were supposed to go out cycling on national Day and then see fireworks at night but I guess at this time, that won't happen. I just have to give him time to get over his mum's death. At least in a way, his sister's and his worry for finances are gone and he have less worry especially with a job like that, he will tend to worry if he has to often fly overseas for work. I just hope that his dad's relationship with him will be better and he can perhaps move back home again. I do not know how to console him, but I hope to be there for him when he needs me. But he says at this time for his mum's funeral, he need not have me there as he will be seeing lots of people which he doesn't wants to meet and me to meet. He will need some time to be alone these few days I guess. It is good that his mum has accepted Christ few years ago, but his dad and sis had some argument on what kind of funeral service they should take up (sister is Christian, same as Andre, his dad merely follows his wife to church but she was a Buddhist before) so eventually they are going for Buddhist service. Andre did not want to have a part in this argument but I thought it should be of what his mum's wish and belief is - Christian. But I do not want to say too much so if he isn't gonna voice out to them, what can I say...

Although I did not get to know his mum well, I have visited her at the hospital twice which the recent visit on Sunday, she may not even know that I was there. She was so weak both times so she cannot even hear or speak. It's a pity that I did not have a chance to be formally introduced to her or get to know her better when she was more sober.

Dedicated to Kok Kiong - R.I.P. 14-Dec-07

It's a sad thing having to receive sad news especially if you heard that from someone you don't know. This is life. But who would have thought such a healthy-looking person who always particpates in sports games and council activities is actually a cancer-stricken patient for 10 years. This entry is to honour a friend of mine whom I knew from SIM for my 1.5 years in there, Png Kok Kiong whom we sometimes call him Uncle KK or KK for short. Uncle KK is what we (Steph, Matilda, Meifang and me) call him during our Introductory Accounting class days in 2006. Kok Kiong was from the same batch of intake as me and we both flunk our IA module in 1st sem together with Jooe so we retook the IA module together a second attempt and KK and I failed again together with Matilda, Steph and Meifang who was one sem our junior and we sat together and retook IA again. So KK and me were the only "old birds" in that new batch. Both of us were from Council but from different depts and he is a fun-loving guy to hang out with. He's always jovial, full of crap during IA class and an outgoing person. He dresses up at to the theme at every bash without fail, participate in council activities like Sports Day, Initiation Day, Orientation Day, etc.

The reason we call him Uncle is he was one of the oldest in our class or we know of among us. I really feel sad for him. He is a nice guy to everyone but he was actually already sufferingwith this illness for 10 years. I heard he passed his IA at last last year but he also put his studies on hold for some personal reason. I did not ask him further thinking he was probably working for a living now for his uncle that time but it was most likely for this reason. His health was deteriorating. I received an sms from his phone saying it is his friend that he just passed away on Friday and tonight was his wake. I did not have time to react to it, thinking is this true when I received two other smses from Meifang and Matilda asking me if this news is true. I called his hp immediately to find out for myself and his friend said that he only got his hp today so he started smsing to everyone this news. He already had this illness for 10 years, his health had been deteroriating recently and within 3 mths, he have had 3 operations. It was really hard to believe this at first. After I left SIM, we did not realyl contacted much except last year, I msg him on MSN asking how was his IA results and he said he finally passed. He was only 28 years old when we knew him so I guess now, he should be about 29-30 years old. I gave my money to his family just now.

I believe he was really happy when he was in SIM. I would like to dedicate this page to my dear friend, KK aka Kok Kiong. We'll miss you. If we were still in SIM, I'll definitely miss having you around...You defintely make our IA lessons more lively and fun...Here's some photos of KK to commemerate him....

Swizzle breathes her last....

My sister, my dad and I sent my dad to the vet. Before we left, we put her favourite hotdog in her bowl hoping that she'll eat for the last time. But she just laid down there refusing to even lift her head. We were the second to go to see the vet, it was a male doctor. Swizzle would normally shiver or fidget around when she was at the clinic, this time she just laid quietly in the kennel we brought her at. My sister initially wanted to pay extra 50 bucks more to separate her ashes but my dad disallowed so we went for the common cremation aka mass cremation (ashes with other animals). My sister started crying while waiting for our turn. It was Swizzle who made her overcome the fear of dogs. The vet actually said that they would want us to consider if we would want to let her be hospitalised while they do some tests on her and treat her which can prolong her for anoither few more months. But eventually she will still return to the same condition as now. My dad felt that if she is able to live for few more years, he would not mind paying for the treatment and hospitalisation but it could only hold her for few months then might as well end her suffering and pain now (长痛不如短痛) that is what my sister and I felt. We were already prepared to let her go. Seeing her suffering quietly makes us feel even more painful though watching her die peacefully is also a tough process. My sister and I immediately cried as we really cannot bear to let her go though we know this would be her choice and the best choice. The vet brought her to another room and prepared the injection. My sister and I let our tears all out. I was disappointed to see my dad seemed to have felt nothing, no tears no nothing. But he was always the one who took care of her and was the cloest to her. However, I know he must be sad too but he just refused to show it. He always put "let her die", "put her to sleep" on his mouth at times but my sister and I were always the one who stopped him though he used to be joking about it in the past. She was still lying down the same way and position when the vet pierced the needle onto her leg. I have never seen her remain so still and never cry or budge at having injections. I guessed she must be really weak and thought her time is up. In less than 10 seconds, the vet confirmed that she was gone. We just wept and the vet left her in the room with a box of tissues. My sister cut off a bit of her fur to keep in memory of her. I took off her collar to keep it cause I bought for her that new collar after her old collar was bitten by herself. Her left eyes weren't fully closed, we wasn't even sure if she did really slept peacefully. When I went home, my mum had already informed my relatives and all of Swizzle's death. My auntie even called me to send her condolences. Everyone said that it was really a pity to let her die like this. I kept thinking the part when I saw her lying on the operation table without a heartbeat really aches me. Don't worry, I will get over it. I'll just have to get used to her absence. It is really weird that suddenly our house seemed different.

I found her old photos, from the time when she just celebrated her first CNY (when I was in Primary 5) with us till the photos I will post here later (I had my digital camera). Lucky we had took many photos of her and looking at the old photos, really makes me miss the times when she was very young and active. Where she was able to see properly and play ball with us. She was able to udnerstand what was "Ball". When we mention "Ball" she will start looking for it and give us the ball to throw for her to catch. She was rather clueless at times, she couldn't find the ball and all. Then when we come home, she'll jump on us pretty excited welcoming us home. She'll walk around in the living room and sleep outside our room when all of us are inside our rooms and whenever she wakes up, she'll stretch her legs which I find it cute. Took a video down using my old BenQ digital camera so there isn't any sound. I realised I did not take a lot of pics or even a single video of her using my new Pentax camera cause it has sound video recording. Here's her pictures for the last time...

Just for those who dunno how Swizzle got her name, she was called Swizzle by the previous owner. They so happened to pass by this chocolate shop in Changi Airport T2. The chocolate shop was called some other name. But they noticed the company name below the shop name as Swizzle Pte Ltd and the logo of the company was a French Poodle thus they decided to give her that name. We had wanted to change her name when she came to our family but in the end, we sticked to that name cause she was so used to it. Because responding to "Ball", she responds (her head will be up when she's asleep or when she is sitting her ear will move) to words like "Mum-mum" which means food in Hokkien and "Gai-gai" or "Go down" which means taking a walk downstairs. She is like a baby, she understands what we are talking. She also responds to "Dinner" and "Come back". When she was younger, she always barks and runs to the door whenever she hear footsteps or voices outside. I really missed the days when she was younger. But good times always pass. Old age always comes and life and death are all parts and parcels of life. That is why keeping a pet is always a fun but tiring process but we often have to face the time when the pet will leave our family for good....

And whom have taken with Swizzle before...
